Hunter by Night release day!

HBN_FB4bI’m so relieved and excited about Hunter by Night’s release I could ugly-cry. I think release is a good word, because you put so much work into writing, re-writing, and then editing and polishing a book before it finally gets out in the world, that to finally see it in the light of day does take a huge weight off.

It’s a big deal, and it’s something worth of celebration. This particular book is special to me, because Lee and Alexia have been waiting so long for their HEA, and because I’m wrapping up a series I love so much. So I wanted to do an extra awesome prize giveaway, something to celebrate past, present, and future.

Past: I stopped reading romance for a long time. When I started again, I was drawn to vampires, and it was Lara Adrian and JR Ward that made me fall in love with romance again. So much that I didn’t want to read it, but write my own.

Present: The Chronicles of Yavn and Hunter by Night would be my present. That probably goes without saying. 🙂

Future: There’s a lot of talk about paranormal being dead. About vampires being dead. Well I’m hear to tell you the genre is alive and well and as hot as ever. So long as authors keep putting new twists on the mythology there will be readers to soak up the books. Also, while I was writing vampires I wan’t reading vampires. Now I can again. I recently picked up fellow Paranormal Unbounder Amber Belldene’s Blood Vine, and totally fell in love with the intelligent writing and rich worldbuilding.

In celebration of Hunter by Night’s release, I want to share these things with you.

One More Day! Hunter by Night is Almost Here!

Updated hunter by night-300

I love every book I’ve written, and every character big and small is special for some reason. Every person and place has a little sliver of myself in them somehow, I like to think. No question though, Lee and Alexia from Hunter by Night have something extra special, and when I wrote their book they really came alive for me on the page. I’m thrilled beyond measure to have them finally going out in the world, and I hope you are too. Everyone’s excitement has been overwhelming, and so far the feedback has been great. Everyone says it’s the best of the series, and I’m so happy to go out on a bang.

I also want to take a moment to say thank you here to Damon Suede and Mary Calmes, who beta read for me and spent hours on the phone with me when I was bogged down in plot snarls. And my husband, who spent more hours than I’m sure he cared to listening to me think out loud. Hunter by Night is dedicated to all three of them, with good reason.

Haven’t pre-ordered yet?! Do it now, and have Hunter by Night zapped to your e-reader at midnight, or shipped out at its first possible moment! (I think you maybe can also get your local bookstore to hold it for you, if they have it in stock-I recall doing that before).

Find it at: AppleAmazon | B&N | KoboPowell’s | BooktopiaBaM|  Goodreads

If you’re a fan of the series and excited about sharing the Lee and Alexia love, I have some fun things you might wish to use to help get out the good word. So please feel free to do so, and thank you so, so much for reading. I am so thankful to you, my readers, more than anything.

The Only Constant is Change

FBcover_YAVNbooks_profile

Because I’ve gotten so many questions about what will be happening with the series after Hunter by Night, I am cross-posting this from the group blog to which I contribute, Paranormal Unbound (with some minor modification).  Yes, at one time it was thought that the series would be longer. No, that is not currently the plan. Yes, I think that’s okay. Everyone who has read Hunter by Night so far agrees that it’s the strongest of the trilogy, and I’m so happy to be resting on a high note. <3

(Quick mention: if you haven’t started the series yet and want to, King of Darkness is on Sale for $2.99 in ebook until June 1 at all ebook vendors)

Bad Boys Who Rev My Engine

herding cats & burning soup

Today as part of the Bad Boys of romance blog hop I’m going to talk briefly about the bad boys that rev my engine, and why.

First, from my own books (although it’s so, SO hard to pick favorites) I would have to say my favorite bad boy is probably Siddoh. The devil may care asshole playboy, who will maybe-probably be the hero of book four of the Chronicles of Yavn. Siddoh is, I suspect, hiding a lot behind that dickhead exterior, and I do so love a good puzzle. My other fave is Anton, the hero of Prince of Power.  Anton was raised to be a murderer, but he changed his stripes for the vampires he fell in love with. Still, lurking beneath the surface is what he used to be. The fact that he could backslide, and he wonders if he ever will…

Also, a great time was had at the Liberty States Create Something Magical con in New Jersey this past weekend, minus the part where I got lost 2 miles from the con IN New Jersey, where I made many illegal U-turns. Sorry New Jersey, your jug handle thingies are confusing. Many thanks to Rayna Vause for being an excellent and professional con coordinator and to Caridad Pineiro and Stephanie Julian for helping to put together a spectacularly fun worldbuilding panel. I also had the pleasure of meeting KA Mitchell whose work I’ve always enjoyed as well as spending time with many other authors I know and love from previous events. I hope to do it again next year. Sherrilyn Kenyon is going to be next year’s keynote speaker, a huge thrill for us paranormal folks. Do come and join us next time!
